Unfathomless Releases Two New Albums: Solo Jeph Jerman, Mathieu Ruhlmann & Joda Clément

Unfathomless has released two new albums today. The first is a solo Jeph Jerman album entitled Imbrication. It contains a single track that features recordings that Jerman made in the Verde River Valley in central Arizona. You can stream the album above or via the Bandcamp page here. You can also purchase a limited edition CD on the same page, which features four double-sided art cards and liner notes. Only 50 copies are available.

The second new album is a collaboration between Mathieu Ruhlmann and Joda Clément. The album is said to be a "distillation of our field recording and life adventures" and features recordings taken in and around East Vancouver. The two focused on large transportation hubs in order to observe the relationship between man-made sound events and their consequent 'stillness' when not in use. You can stream the album above or via the Bandcamp page here. CDs are also available for purchase on the same page and feature an art card.

Pan y Rosas Discos Releases C. Reider & Jeph Jerman's 'Pop Variations'

Netlabel Pan y Rosas Discos has released a new collaborative album from C. Reider and Jeph Jerman. The album consists of a single 30 minute track comprised of edited vinyl pops and crackles. C. Reider wrote the following about the album:

in 2015, my friend jeph jerman sent me a very lovely lathe-cut record. one side has a twelve minute track of the pops and crackles that are typical of vinyl records. all of the sounds in pop variations were derived from that recording, using various techniques, like running the pops & clicks through a de-clicking algorithm, or slowing down the recording to the point where you can hear the needle bouncing at each pop.

Jeph Jerman's '34°111'3"N 111°95'4"W' is the Inaugural Release for New Label Mappa

Mappa is a newly launched label out of Slovakia and it's inaugural release comes from Jeph Jerman. The album is entitled 34°111'3"N 111°95'4"W and features three field recordings of an abandoned windmill located approximately one mile north of Jerman's hometown. These tracks were recorded over the course of two years and is presented without much embellishment. The press release contains a quote from an interview that Jerman had with Time Quotidian—"These days I don't try to evoke anything. I make sound that'll hopefully be listened to." It's apt considering the presentation of sounds on the album.

You can stream 34°111'3"N 111°95'4"W above via Mappa's Bandcamp. You can find more information about the album and purchase it here. The album is also available on cassette. Copies are limited to 70 and the first 35 purchases come with a small object found near the windmill. You can see a picture of these objects below.
