Room40 Announces New Albums from Olivia Block, M. Geddes Gengras

Room40 has announced two new albums to be released in September. The first comes from Olivia Block and is entitled 132 Ranks. The piece was composed for the Skinner rgan at the Rockefeller Memorial Chapel in Chicago. The piece was performed in April of last year and featured six speakers placed throughout the chapel that played sounds that were meant to interact with the performance space. The second new release that Room40 has announced comes from M. Geddes Gengras. The two-disc album is called Light Pipe and features ten pieces that interact with the various interior and exterior spaces in which they were performed. Glistening Examples Release Three New Albums

Glistening Example has released a new batch of records. The first comes from Hardworking Families and is entitled Emergency Window. The album contains five tracks which feature field recordings taken in numerous locations including Krakow, London, and Berlin. Its first track is a realization of a score by James Saunders. The second new album to come out from Glistening Examples is from Matthew Azevedo under his Retribution Body name. The album is called Self Destruction and is comprised of expansive, long-form drone pieces. You can download and purchase the album here.

The final album to be released from Glistening Examples is a reissue of a limited 2017 tour cassette from Jason Lescalleet. The album is entitled Almost Is Almost Good Enough. Unfathomless Releases Two New Albums: Solo Jeph Jerman, Mathieu Ruhlmann & Joda Clément

Unfathomless has released two new albums today. The first is a solo Jeph Jerman album entitled Imbrication. It contains a single track that features recordings that Jerman made in the Verde River Valley in central Arizona. You can stream the album above or via the Bandcamp page here. You can also purchase a limited edition CD on the same page, which features four double-sided art cards and liner notes. Only 50 copies are available.

The second new album is a collaboration between Mathieu Ruhlmann and Joda Clément. The album is said to be a "distillation of our field recording and life adventures" and features recordings taken in and around East Vancouver. The two focused on large transportation hubs in order to observe the relationship between man-made sound events and their consequent 'stillness' when not in use. New Tea Rockers Album <i>Fictions</i> Out Now

Tea Rockers is a group of musicians who perform improvised music based on the tea they drink. In the description for their new album Fictions, member Yan Jun notes that "the two main relationships between humans and the world are eating and economic consumption. In between the tea that already exists and music that has not yet sounded, we are looking forward to see other relationships by listening intently."

Rhizome.s Releases Two New Albums

Rhizome.s has released two new albums. The first is entitled affinités sélectives volume 1 and features five tracks that span 68 minutes. The first four tracks—"Back Feeder I" through "IV"—is performed by Gaudenz Badrutt, Ilia Belorukov, and Alexander Markvart. The fifth track is entitled "Gezeugt" and is performed by Quentin Conrate, Matthieu Lebrun, Laure-Anne Pudbut, and Fréderic Tentelier. You can find more information about the album here.

The second new release from Rhizome.s comes from Morgan Evans-Weiler and is entitled iterations & environments. Lionel Marchetti and Aki Onda have released a new 40-minute piece entitled "Le Dieu Nu". The two performed the track in 2010 during a residency-tour in the Netherlands that was curated by Frans de Waard. The piece also features vocal contributions from Perre Mottron and Yôko Higashi. Cuspeditions has released the newest album from Miki Yui. It's entitled Mills and features seven tracks spanning a total of 37 minutes. The album features Yui working with "field recordings, synthesizer, solar oscillator, and sampler." The press release describes Mills as saying, "Miki Yui’s harnessing of solar energy, both materially and symbolically, feels like a joyous salute to the sun in all its manifestations."

New Tone List Album Features Jameson Feakes & Josten Myburgh Performing Antoine Beuger Composition

Tone List has released a new album from Jameson Feakes and Josten Myburgh. The album finds the two musicians performing Antoine Beuger's "un lieu pour être deux". The score is written for two performers and is fifty pages long. There are two numbers between zero and three listed on each page, and performers are asked to play those number of sounds very quietly. The album, which you can stream above, is a recording of the two performing 20-something pages.

The digital album can be downloaded for free from the Tone List Bandcamp page here. A CD-R version of the album is also available and it features a "handmade A5-sized matte black case containing art prints" as well as a booklet containing essays.
